Newzealander Paddy Chapman won the World Association Croquet Championship on February 11th, beating the previous winner Reg Bamford by 3 games to 2. All 3 of Paddy’s wins included a triple peel!
The Ruth Castle Shield and the Vice Captain’s Trophy must be completed by March 6th.
Rod was Manager and playing captain of the Auckland GC Team that won the 6 Counties North Island Shield played in Whangerai over 3 days Jan27/29.

Otherwise Club Days are held on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. Summer playing time started on Monday October 2nd, members should please aim to be at the club by 09.00 for an 09.30 start.
Monday ... "Mainly AC" priority will be given to AC players, including those using half lawns. GC players may play, providing that there is lawn space available. Draw at 09.15 with play commencing at 09.30. Experienced players will often be on hand to give instruction to those not yet au fait with this code.
Thursday ... No change. Both codes will be played, with the draw at 09.15 and play commencing at 09.30.
Saturday ... No change. Both codes will be played, with the draw at 09.15 and play commencing at 09.30.
Visitors are welcome ... $5 for members of other clubs, worldwide, $7 for others.
All 4 lawns are now playable.
Quadway Hoops are in use on lawn C, they are currently set at 3 43/64" (the white hoops are set at 3 3/4". The pétanque terrain is open for play to both full and social members, interested visitors should complete the enquiry form on this website.

Free coaching is available to members with handicaps of 3 and above by special arrangement with Rod, and prospective members may request up to 3 hours of coaching without charge.
Officers for the 2017/18 season are as follows: Garth Cumberland (President), Charlotte Millar (Event management and Vice Captain), Christopher Brotherton-Ratcliffe (Treasurer), Rod Templeman (Captain), Ulrike McLachlan (House Manager), John Sutton (Grounds Superintendant), Mike Lloyd (Fundraising), Murray Henshall, the position of Secretary is currently vacant but is being covered by John.
Around 24 have played Twilight Croquet on each of the occasions that it has been played to date. The next sessions will be February 7th and 21st and the March dates are 7th and 21st (Final session, but « Raincheck Day » Feb 28th.
